5 Minutes of Fabulous: Drab to Fab

Ahhh Happy Friday Love Muffin!

Yas! We made it! TGIF!

So, the last couple of weeks I’ve been kind of all over the place. Can you relate?

Lots of activity going on at work that calls for early morning meetings and lots of deadlines to meet. My personal life has also been revving up with lots of fun activities (check the insta for the latest adventures).

Now, I can only imagine that your life looks similar, am I right? I know I am!

My saving grace the last couple of weeks has been a seamless hair, skincare, and make-up routine that takes me from drab to fab in 5 minutes. My hope is that on days that feel out of your control, that these simple tips will bring you ease and seamlessness. And of course, make you feel gorgeous while you take on the world!

My Frida Kahlo Crown Braids

This hairdo looks super complicated, but it's really so simple (I promise). Personally, it makes me feel like I am rocking a vintage Frida Kahlo eleganza vibe (aka bad-ass feminista) and I promise, if I can do it, you can too!

Step 1: Snoop Doggy Dogg braids aka Pippy Longstocking aka I know you can do this with your eyes closed! Middle part. 2 Braids. You got this!

Step 2: Wrap your Snoop Dogg braids to see how they look. Decide which braid you want on the bottom. I usually take 10 seconds to decide on this step

Step 3: Pin it! I have big curly hair so I use a ton of pins. Use as many as you like. Cross the braids over your head like a headband and pin them into place.

Step 4: I pull a few pieces out around my face to make it look perfectly imperfect.

Step 5: Voila! You got it gurl!

Extra Credit: Add a bandana, a headband, or a scarf to jazz it up even further!

Skin Care

One step: Oil. Can’t live without it. I slater it all over my body AND my face too! If you’ve never used it, give it whirl!

I use it on my cheekbones and eye-lids on days when I just don’t feel like putting on a full face. I personally use straight-up coconut oil (you can buy a jar at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's), Mullein & Sparrow Rose Blossom body oil, and Vintner’s Daughter

Make-Up

When in doubt, red lipstick. I often will go bare faced and just throw on lipstick and tap dance out the door. My favorite red is from Mac and it is called Ruby Woo- I also use the lipliner. It stays on all day- even through meals (and you know how much I love my meals).

What do you think? Do you feel like you would benefit from a more streamlined routine? Would you be willing to consider simplifying on days when you know that you have a ton going on?

Please feel free to comment below and ask me any questions that you may have!

And remember, I see you girl, you got this and you are beautiful!
